Was Jesus a criminal?

People suffer many fantasies about Jesus. These have been, and continue to be, redundantly recited about him. Raised on the presumption that in his arrest and trial and conviction he was innocent there is this supposition that he was a victim of mob hysteria, then deserted, denied due process, and finally unjustly put to death. Most Christians are raised with this interpretation: Jesus was an ingenuous and hapless victim of a gross miscarriage of justice.

But the truth is that he was guilty. And never has it been more true that a man was apprehended, accused, tried, convicted, sentenced, and executed of whom it may be more certain; Jesus was a criminal.

And when you come to see this, then that insight changes everything.
